IMPACT Program Overview

The IMPACT Arkansas Principal Fellows Program is an innovative, niche educational leadership preparation program offered by the University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions and supported through funding from the Walton Family Foundation, the Windgate Foundation, and other partners. Designed for eligible Arkansas educators with the vision and drive to transform schools, IMPACT prepares future principals and empowers Fellows to lead meaningful change in their schools and districts, with a focus on high-poverty communities throughout Arkansas. While continuing to work in their schools, Fellows engage in hands-on leadership development, action research, and school-based learning experiences designed to prepare them to lead effectively in high-poverty educational settings. Upon completion of the 18-month program, Fellows earn a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Principal Certification. Those accepted into the fellowship receive a scholarship that pays 90 percent of all tuition and fees.

Outside the fellowship, the EDLE offers coursework and guidance for a general M.Ed. in primary and secondary educational administration.
